Bellur Ramanath, MDDr. Ramanath, board certified in pediatrics, received his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India, and completed his pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. With a commitment to high quality care and a wealth of knowledge in pediatric medicine, he brings more than 35 years of experience to Night Light Pediatrics.

Dr. Ramanath is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Texas Medical Association.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling, gardening and music.

Ellen W.Sutherland, MDDr. Ellen W.Sutherland has more than 20 years of experience in pediatrics. After receiving her medical degree at the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine, she completed a pediatric residency and chief residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Since completing her training, Dr. Sutherland has practiced primary care pediatrics, served as Director of Clinics in an academic center. and most recently provided inpatient pediatric care to hospitalized children. Dr. Sutherland has been rcognized as “One of the Best Doctors in America” in the Midwest Region by Woodward/ White. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Sutherland has a M.S. in Education. But most importantly, she is a wife and mother of two.

Reginald H. Moore, MDDr. Reginald H. Moore is a board certified pediatrician with over 20 years of experience. After completing his undergraduate work a The College of William and Mary, he received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services Army rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his military career he served as Chief of Pediatrics at Fort Hood, completed fellowship training in hematology/oncology, and served as Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Wilford Hall in San Antonio. Since leaving the military, he has been an Associate Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Moore is the father of four daughters.

Elizabeth Menking, MDDr. Menking, board certified in pediatrics, received her medical degree and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Texas Pediatric Society, Bexar County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association. She primary provides inpatient pediatric care to hospitalized children.

Dr. Menking enjoys spending time with her husband and young son.

Shirley Trowell-Bell, MDDr. Trowell-Bell, board certified in pediatrics, received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta. She completed her pediatric residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Texas Pediatric Society, Bexar County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Trowell has practiced pediatric medicine for more than a decade. She is experienced in the nursery, inpatient and outpatient pediatrics.

Dr. Trowell-Bell enjoys spending time with her three sons, reading, traveling, and arts and crafts.

Linda S. Cook, MDDr. Linda S. Cook is a native Texan. As a Longhorn, she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a doctorate in microbiology. She attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for medical school and a pediatric residency. She did further work in infectious diseases through the London School of Tropical Medicine. She has 18 years experience in pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has worked in private practice most of her career and has also worked as a hospitalist in the newborn nursery.

Dr. Cook loves to travel, when she can get away, and plays the violin for fun. Most importantly, she is married to a retired pediatrician and has two nearly grown children.



Subhashini Valavalkar, MDDr. Subhashini Valavalkar is a board certified pediatrician with over 15 years of experience. After completing her pediatric residency and becoming board certified in India, she came to the United States and completed another pediatric residency in Harlem Hospital, New York. She entered into private practice along with her husband in Kentucky, before relocating to Texas. Dr. Valavalkar enjoys working with children immensely.

When not working, she loves to paint, walk, travel and spend time with her husband and two wonderful children.


Sushil Valavalkar, MDDr. Sushil Valavalkar is a board certified pediatrician with over 15 years of experience. After completing his pediatric residency in India, he came to the United States and completed another pediatric residency in Flushing Hospital, New York. He entered into private practice along with his wife in Kentucky, before relocating to Texas. He was also very active in the hospital and nursery and is very experienced in both inpatient and outpatient pediatrics.

Dr. Valavalkar’s passion for kids translates to his home life where he is a wonderful father to his two kids. His is an avid sports fan with statistics on all sports committed to memory, and enjoys traveling with family.

Letisha A. Sneed, MDDr. Letisha Sneed is a board certified pediatrician with more than 10 years of experience in primary care. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas before receiving her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston. After medical school she relocated to San Antonio where she completed her pediatric residency training program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Sneed is the mother of two elementary aged children. She and her family have resided in the Stone Oak area for more than ten years.


Cheryl Trexler, MDDr. Cheryl Trexler is a board certified pediatrician with over 10 years of experience caring for children in the primary care setting in San Antonio. She is a Texas A & M graduate who then attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. She also completed her pediatric residency at UTMB.

Dr. Trexler is married and the mother of three daughters. She enjoys camping with her family, reading, gardening and traveling. She is also active as a parent volunteer for her daughters’ school choir and pep squad.
